Hi! Welcome to Rhodes Rules! We are the Rhodes Family and we are so happy that you stopped by! We are so excited to share our story with you.

Jeff and I (Kacey) began our journey together nearly 25 years ago as high school sweethearts, with a desire for excitement and adventure, and little regard to conventional wisdom. We got married after our first year of college at 18 and 19 years old, even though our family and friends thought we were absolutely crazy. 

Within a couple of years, our family grew with the birth of our first son, Jonathan. We were young parents and college students, with very limited funds; but we always had the feeling that life had more adventure to offer, regardless of our funds. So, the thought of settling down and living a typical life, like most people our age were living, just didn’t seem to fit us.

Over the next 20 years, we lived in 5 different states, in 15 different houses, and had four sons, which is an adventure in itself! We went to college, started multiple businesses, changed career paths several times, and finally landed back in our hometown of Minden, Louisiana. To the people around us, our lives probably looked insane, but it fit exactly who we were.

As we were living life, like most American families, we began to accumulate so many “things” that we even knew what to do with. As Christmas approached a few years ago, we decided that we would rather rekindle that adventurous spirit within our family that inspired our lives. We realized we wanted to provide our children with experiences rather than more physical gifts that would eventually just turn into more “stuff.”

 It’s been quite a journey reframing our mindset to move away from consumerism and materialism, and staying focused on what’s important to our family, which is traveling, experiences, and volunteerism. We desire to teach our boys to gather these moments, and give back to our community, serve and help the people around them, and hopefully make a difference in our great big world. From the day each of them were born, we have prayed for them to be world-changers. 

As our children have grown older, and are beginning to leave the nest, we have become acutely aware of how precious time is and just how quickly it passes. We feel like we can always make more money, but one thing we cannot create is more time. This realization, once again, ignited the passion within us to make the absolute most of our time with our boys TODAY.

The limitations of time and money in relation to living out your dreams are very often used to snuff out adventure; but you can always start right where you are today. You can have massive dreams, but you don’t have to wait until everything is perfect before you start living out those dreams in small ways every single day. You can start where you are with what you have right now. You’ll never regret starting, but you will regret the time lost while you were waiting. You’ll never get that time back.

Our passion is to DREAM massive dreams, EXPLORE and adventure, and INSPIRE others to live out their dreams today and everyday. We feel like we have a compelling story to share, and we want you to understand that your life is your journey, and you hold your map.
