How long has it been since you’ve ridden a bike? Thanks to our little adventure on Mackinac Island, MI, we quickly found the meaning of the saying “It’s just like riding a bike.” It is true, you pick up right where you left off!

A short ferry ride from St. Ignace or Mackinaw City, MI, Mackinac Island is a charming, historical, and ideal place to visit. Be mindful though! It is car-free, so bicycles and horse-drawn carriages rule the roads!

Saturday, August 15 took the Rhodes Rules family north into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to enjoy a day of bicycling the beautiful Mackinac Island, where no cars are allowed! We made a full day of exploring the incredible views Mackinac has to offer, experiencing the history of the island through a Drills, Tactics, and Firearms Demonstration at Fort Mackinac, and, of course, indulging in some goodies from a few of the local shops!
